Lucie Loves… Coffee // #Blogged | Saturday morning at The Laundry E8 in London Fields

JMG and I love finding new places to enjoy coffee in London. A few weeks ago we discovered The Laundry E8: a canteen, bar and event space in London fields.

On entering you are greeted by a rather minimalist, industrial-looking interior, lots of space, high ceilings and a beautiful polished concrete floor, which spans the length of the building.

It boasts a well-stocked bar and generous seating area – inside and out. Tables are rustic-looking; made from reclaimed railway sleepers, and surrounded by elegant French wooden bistro chairs. Modern pendant lights with exposed filament bulbs hang at intervals from the exposed ceiling.

Vintage wooden letterpress trays - an interesting alternative to art work – are mounted on the wall, butted against each other, like something you’d see in the Marianne North gallery at Kew Gardens, to complete the look.

The interior design is impressive and considered. As is the open-kitchen and fact that they serve Allpress coffee. This place has fantastic natural light, which pours in from each end of the building from large factory windows. JMG were discussing how nice this would be as one HUGE open plan home. Can we move in please?

We only had time for coffee during our first visit, but we will definitely be back again with friends to sample the delicious-looking food. A new east London brunch spot is born!

Fact: Did you know…

The Laundry also has a basement that can be hired and used as a location space for music videos or fashion photography shoots. And the likes of Cheryl Cole, London Grammar, Secret Cinema and many more have shot here.

JMG wears: Baiders snap-back cap, AnyForty x Add Fuel for Calm t-shirt, H&M black skinny jeans and red Nike Air Pegasus ’89 trainers.
