Lucie Loves.... Fitness // A.M.A.Z.I.N.G @NikeUK #WeOwnTheNight training session with Gemma Bailey aka @GoodToTone this morning on Clapham Common
Our Nike Training Club Trainer Gemma’s enthusiasm and sunny personality were a perfect match for the weather conditions we had this morning. It was hot and spirits were high.
This is the first NTC session that my friend Hannah - who has also signed up for We Own The Night - have taken part in and the best thing about it was that IT WAS FREE!!!
Hannah and I groaned and sweated our way through sets of push-ups, frogs, high-knees, squats, sit-ups and other core strengthening exercises. We left feeling good, a little achey - but hey! we’d worked bloody hard - and ended up covered in mud but with smiles on our faces. We were even treated to a delicious pot of strawberry yoghurt and muesli as a reward for working so hard from OSO Natural Fuel aka @osonaturalfuel.
I’d earned about 1700 Nike+ fuel point on my FuelBand at the end of the session and burnt around 500 calories. Phew! My target or fuel point goal for the day is 3000. (As I type this, I’ve just checked again and I’m now on 2464 points earned, 651 calories burnt and 7465 steps taken.)
I’ve been on 3 runs this week - each time aiming for my goal distance of 6km, I also managed to fit in a Kettle bell class, a WillPower and Grace class and a Nike Training Club Session - I’m determined to do this properly.
As a reward for my weeks efforts, I nipped to Tesco on my way home from NTC and purchased some Radox Muscle Soak as a treat for my weary bones and immediately ran a bath, peeled off my muddy clothes, washed my crummy trainers in the sink and jumped into the hot bubbly water. aaaaah.
There are a number of classes running over the next few weeks in places like Clapham Common, Holland Park, NikeTown London, Regents Park, Stratford City, Victoria Park, Westfield London and Glasgow. There are even some NikeTown Yoga sessions (2nd & 9th May) thrown in too - note to self: book quickly!
The Nike Training Club’s are all about getting girls together. They promote a sense of community spirit that encourages, inspires and supports girls along their training journey.
I’m taking part in Nike’s We Own The Night - female only - 10K run on 18th May at Victoria Park, so my sight’s are set on getting as fit as possible in time for race day - or night should I say…
** If you fancy signing yourself up for the We Own The Night 10K race - you can do so here. **
