Lucie Loves… cocktails and canapés and a bit of GoGo Disco
November is one of my favourite months. Every year, my friends and I get together to celebrate my mate Laura’s birthday - she knows how to put on a good do. It’s a guaranteed hoot, but one that always requires a good deal of deliberation/consultation over what to wear.
It was decided that we give The Drift bar at Heron Tower a whirl and we were not disappointed. It’s swanky, has beautiful low-lighting, an open kitchen, serves tasty canapés, great cocktails and has a really nice vibe - perfect for showing off my New Look accessories.
We tucked into little platters of satay chicken, calimari, mini burgers, fish ‘n’ chips, garlic bread, breaded prawns and steak strips. Food came to around £15 a head, and was worth it. Cocktails are around the £8 mark.
After our cocktail catch up we headed to GoGo Disco next to Highbury & Islington station for a bit of a dance. They played some great songs from the likes of The Rapture, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blondie, Destiny’s Child, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Jam, to name just a few.
Here’s what I wore last night:
- Green Sparkle & Fade textured zip-back crop top
- Blue metallic zip clutch
- Gold sleek link chain statement necklace
- Bitchin’ & Junkfood sequin skirt from Young British Designers (a couple of seasons ago)
- Black metal biker chain belt
- Dr Martens Darla heeled chelsea boots
A big thank you to @NewLookFashion for asking me to style up some of their very reasonable priced party accessories. I enjoyed adding a touch of mermaid green sequin shimmer and taking the look out to play in London town.
